One of the key national switches in North Africa replaces Base24 with SmartVista

BPC Banking Technologies, the leading provider of Open System payment solutions, announces the completion of migration project from existing Base24 platform on SmartVista at Monétique Tunisie, Tunisia. Monétique Tunisie stands as the National switch for all Tunisian banks and beyond, offering electronic payment transaction services and operating over 1,000 ATMs and 10,000 POS-terminals.

Monétique Tunisie has decided to replace existing platform in terms of high cost of ownership and operational expenses. Following the bid process, BPC was chosen due to the market proven expertise of implementing large-scale projects, including range of Base24 migrations, knowledge of national switch’s operation as well as the Company’s comprehensive solutions fully matching the required functionality. The CMS migration for all the Monétique Tunisie banks-participants has been completed error-free, in short terms even in 3 months prior to the planned project target date. In November BPC has also fulfilled the migration of banks-participants, located in Tunisia, Libya, Algeria and Congo. SmartVista enables Monétique Tunisie to issue and acquire all types of cards, including MasterCard and Visa, UnionPay and JCB, Amex and Diners Club card products.

The terminal network has also been migrated on SmartVista smoothly avoiding any technical downtime and service outage. Supported by BPC experts, the Monétique Tunisie team now has everything to create ATM scenarios on their own, according to all current business needs. SmartVista allows Monétique Tunisie to streamline all operations making all the transaction flows, international payment systems authorization and interbanking relations transparent. The Tunisian national switch now has a reliable, cost-effective system in terms of total ownership and operation.
